After you've verified your email address, you'll be asked a question in order to get you started in a way that's relevant to you.

After you finish setting up your account, you'll have access to your dashboard where you can access your API Key and perform [dashboard](http://my.sendchamp.com) communication functions.

## Setting up your Python Application

First, you’ll need to create a file `voice.py` to save your code.

Replace URL with either a test or live BASE URL depending on what you intend to do.

Replace Authorization under HEADER with your test or live Access key depending on what you intend to do.

## Parameters
 

* Set the value of (customer_phone_number) to any number (or numbers) you want to receive the message. 
* Set the value of the type to incoming for incoming messages and set type to outgoing for outgoing messages.
* Set (message)to text message you want to send as a voice message.

## Sending your voice message

Now you can execute the code and send your test your voice message. 

Run the following script:

The code you used in the voice.py  file sends a POST request to the sendchamp API endpoint to send your voice message.

### **WhatsApp Message API Call**

Your WhatsApp API call must have the following components:

1. A host. 
2. Authorization Header
3. Request 


An API Key must be included in the Authorization header.

When submitting data to a resource via POST, you must submit your payload in JSON.

### **Send a WhatsApp Message**

Depending on the language you wish to use, using one of our WhatsApp code samples [here](https://sendchamp.readme.io/reference/request-2), write a script that will submit a message request.

### **For OTP/Notification Requests:**

* Copy the sample example for your preferred language.
* Paste the example into your favorite text editor.
* Copy your API key and paste it in the "Authorization" header.

In the data section, specify the following;

Sender: Your approved WhatsApp number on Sendchamp. You can use our phone number if you have not registered a number 2347067959173

Recipient: WhatsApp number of the customer you are sending the message to 
Template_code: You can find this on the template page under WhatsApp Channel of your Sendchamp dashboard

Message: This is the message based on the template approved on Sendchamp Dashboard

### **For Two way Messaging Requests:**

### **Setting up Your Ruby Application**


First, let's create a new file in the directory and call it send_wa.rb.
In this file, let's include uri and net/http using require. 

Replace the string ACCESS-KEY in the following Ruby code and hardcode your API key.

Note: For production applications, we recommend storing your key in a configuration file or environment variable instead and passing this variable with the key to the require function.

But wait, what do these attributes mean? 

* The originator is the sender of the message; Your approved Whatsapp number on Sendchamp. You can use our phone number if you have not registered a number 2347067959173

* The recipients are the phone numbers that will receive the message. All numbers should be in the international format with country code. You must specify this attribute as an array even if you have just a single recipient. You can send a message to up to 50 numbers at a time.

* The type should be set to template.

Make sure to replace the values in the sample code with adequate data for testing. There are additional optional attributes as well; you can find them in the SMS API documentation.

If this call fails, the sendchamp client throws an error. We can rescue this to provide more error information to a user if need be:

## Create a Sender ID

Once your account is created, you’ll need to add a new sender ID in order to send SMS Messages. Click channels on your dashboard under settings, click sms channel and add a sender ID. Take note of your ID, because you'll use it later.

## Setting up a PHP Application

First, you’ll need to create a file `voice.php` to save your code.

Replace CURLOTP_URL with either a test or live BASE URL depending on what you intend to do.

Replace Authorization under CURLOTP_HTTPHEADER with your test or live Access key depending on what you intend.

## Parameters
 

* Set the value of (customer_phone_number) to any number (or numbers) you want to receive the message. 
* Set the value of the type to outgoing.
* Set (message) to the text message you want to send as voice.

## Sending your voice message

Now you can execute the code and send your test SMS message. 

Run the following command:

* The type is the method of the message and should be set to either outgoing or incoming

Make sure to replace the values in the sample code with adequate data for testing. There are additional optional attributes as well; you can find them in the Voice API documentation.

If this call fails, the sendchamp client throws an error. We can rescue this to provide more error information to a user if need be:

### **Obtain your API keys**

Sendchamp authenticates your API requests using your account’s API Key. If you do not include your key when making an API request, or use one that is incorrect or outdated, your request will return an error.

We included a test API KEY in our code samples. Make sure you replace our API test key with your own live or test API Key depending on what you intend to do, whether you want to test the API or send live messages.

Obtain your API key so sendchamp can authenticate your integration’s API requests. You can obtain your API key by simply visiting your dashboard, click on account settings, APIs & webhooks and there you’ll find your Access key.

If you cannot see your API keys on your dashboard, this means you do not have access to them. Only sendchamp users can access API Keys.

* The body is the content of the message. SMS messages are limited to 160 characters, and if you enter a longer value for the body it will be split into multiple parts which are each sent and billed separately.

* The type is the method of the message and should be either outgoing or incoming.

### **Accessing your API key**

To access any Sendchamp API, you’ll need to provide an API access key.
Sendchamp provides keys in live and test modes for different purposes:

First, let's create a new file in the directory and call it sendVoice.Java. 

Replace the string PUBLIC-KEY in the following Java code and hardcode your API key.

Note: For production applications, we recommend storing your key in a configuration file or environment variable instead and passing this variable with the key to the require function.

## Active a WhatsApp Number

Visit your sendchamp dashboard and navigate to WhatsApp channel.

Click on activate number and choose a subscription plan that is suitable for you. You won’t be asked to pay for it until your number is active. 

When you select a plan, you’ll be redirected to a page that would ask you to fill in the necessary information. Basic information, WhatsApp account information and your business information.

## Setting up a Python Application

First, you’ll need to create a file `send.py` to save your code.

* Set the value of the sender to your activated WhatsApp number.

## Parameters
 
* Set channel to one of the following VOICE, SMS, WHATSAPP OR EMAIL. 
* Set sender to your unique sender ID.
* Set token type as NUMERIC OR ALPHANUMERIC 
* Set token length to the length of the token you want to send to your customer. Minimum is 4
* Set expiration time to how long you want to the to be active for in minutes. (E.g 10 means 10 minutes )

Run the following command:

The code you used in the `send.js`  file sends a POST request to the sendchamp API endpoint to send your verification OTP.

## Confirm a Verification OTP

Create a file `confirm.js` to save your code.

Sending SMS with Nodejs using Sendchamp SMS API

Learn how to quickly send and confirm verification OTP with Python using sendchamp API.

In this guide we will walk you through:

1. Signing up free sendchamp account
2. Create a Sender ID
3. Send verification OTP
4. Confirm verification OTP

## Prerequisite

Before you can get started, you need the following already set up:
You have python installed. If you don't, read about how to install it on your system [here](https://www.python.org/downloads/).

When you sign up, you'll have to verify your email address. This allows sendchamp to verify your identity.

After you've verified your email address, you'll be asked a question in order to get you started in a way that's relevant to you.

After you finish setting up your account, you'll have access to your dashboard where you can access your API Key and perform [dashboard](http://my.sendchamp.com) communication functions.

## Create a Sender ID

Once your account is created, you’ll need to add a new sender ID in order to send SMS Messages. Click channels on your dashboard under settings, click sms channel and add a sender ID. Take note of your ID, because you'll use it later.

## Send a Verification OTP

First, you’ll need to create a file `send.py` to save your code.

## Parameters
 
* Set channel to one of the following VOICE, SMS, WHATSAPP OR EMAIL. 
* Set sender to your unique sender ID.
* Set token type as NUMERIC OR ALPHANUMERIC 
* Set token length to the length of the token you want to send to your customer. Minimum is 4
* Set expiration time to how long you want to the to be active for in minutes. (E.g 10 means 10 minutes )

Run the following command:

send.py 
``` 

The code you used in the `send.py`  file sends a POST request to the sendchamp API endpoint to send your verification OTP.

## Confirm a Verification OTP

Create a file `confirm.py` to save your code.

## Parameters
 
* Set verification code to the OTP that was sent to the customer..
* Set verification reference to the unique reference that was returned as response when the OTP was created

Run the following command:

```
confirm.py 
``` 

The code you used in the `confirm.py`  file sends a POST request to the sendchamp API endpoint to confirm the OTP verification.
